Do It Yourself Fishpole Boom Microphone

This is a cheap STEREO fishpole boom for your microphones. I found a metal pants hanger…and attached two lavalier mikes with the hanger’s alligator clips. A 3′ cheap wooden dowel fit right into the hanger’s shape…and I taped the lav mike wires and battery boxes to the pole. I’ll use plastic wire ties later. Absolutely no phasing problems between mikes…and you can put the subject anywhere; stereo field/effect doesn’t seem to be bothered by the distance between the mikes or their orientation with one another, since they’re both omnis. Bad job of filming this little ditty, though…I set the HD camera ontop of the refrigerator, and stood in a storage room. Awful lighting, focus was bad. But, hey, it looks like alot of the other ones on youtube, hahaha!
